i can't break 600 polies to save my life /images/graemlins/frown.gif i hate modelling for rts games too long.
If you submit this to Hawken for rendering like I plan on doing so we should make sure ours are next to one-another.

the sad thing is... chair table and four bottles are more polies than everything else /images/graemlins/frown.gif
sit's at 960 polies with what has to be RECORD wasted space. I'm so used to fitting three models onto one map that i do it instinctively now.
Personally I'd use your spare space to add more foliage to those trees, they look pretty bare, fake and plastic now.
Love the hut, chair and bottles though...

you could throw lots more polygons at those palm trees, they aren't really fitting in with the realism of the rest of the peice

they HAVe alot of polies... i'll make em bend more
They have a lot of polies!? Why don't you just make them planes with about 12 tris maximum, and alpha-map some foliage on? It's not the fact that they're not bending that's making them look odd, it's the fact that there's exactly 4 identical leaves per tree! Make some more leaves, vary the size, and vary the shape. You could make trees that look hugely better with two leaf textures, an opacity map, and just some geometry work! Go to it!

i added more leaves and randomized them some bent the trees a bit more..

and i told you i wasted alot of space

bend those leaves! vary their scale! they're far too uniform now... they look like novelty drinks umbrellas!
the texture work is nice though, keep it up.

palm trees? it's 1024 polies exactly.
haha that coconuts is smiling like a donut.
There we go! IMHO, that's a lot better... good job.
Maybe some colour variation in the leaves? A bit of yellow/brown here or there would probably help tie them into the rest of the scene and look more natural.

Defineatly agree with MoP on the coloring. It would add much more realism, and tie everything together better.

can u make the wooden chair a bit more weathered? It just stands out against the gritty of the sand, trees, etc. I really like the idea /images/graemlins/smile.gif
