Top North American developers Bioware and Pandemic are set to merge in a $300 million deal crafted by Elevation Partners, the private equity firm headed up by former EA president John Riccitiello.

so, even though this is being termed a 'merger,' Elevation Partners now owns both Pandemic and Bioware?

Seems that way, yea. I don't think it's a bad thing, though. Both of these studios are top-notch, so I expect this spawn many more amazing games.

Lots of people benefitted from this, which is great as its a good reward for all the hard work people have put into their work.

I think there is alot of confidence in the board of directors and no one expects the company to be anything like Ea. I am just amused that a midget Irish singer is my boss /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Back when I was at Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos was caught in the bidding war between SCI and Elevation Partners, one of my co-workers changed his Outlook alert sound to the chorus of the U2 song Elevation. So everytime he had a meeting alert, you'd hear Bono hootin and hollerin at full blast. Even when SCI won, he never bothered to change it...
