View Full Version : Challenge #19 Halloween goes low poly - CMB
Reserving my spot.
I have 2 models made for this.
1 object and 1 monster uvwwrapped and waiting to be skinned.
I can't post anything because my frineds are impatient.
Screenshots in an hour or so.
There under the limit and look great.
I finished texturing the skeleton(monster catagory).
Tommorow I hope to finish the Item catagorey and start the character.
256 tri's and one 128x128 diffuse map freehand with tablet.
1 red omni light temporarily there.
My item is 64 tris and Is not uvw unwrapped yet.
Today is my lucky day.
The first time I could get textporter to work also. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hahaha, that little skeleton dude is so awesome.
Uhg sorry but update must be canceled for 12+ hours.
3dsmax is slightly broken(my command bar wont show up,even is I check it to show) so I closed it.
Then I noticed the few number of polyboost sessions I have so I want to open 3dsmax for all day tommorow and conserve the sessions.
Thanks kitteh but I have his head in a strange position.
He looks more correct in different positions, but still looks sadisticly happy.
Any major bone anatomy problems?
The little ones will be fixed when I correct the tones(not realy skintones are they...).
But the scenery is modeled and unwrapped and my object is completly finished.
So I'll get everything done tommorow.
I don't know why the bad lighting, there are no lights in the scene.
everything is at the tri requirment and the textures are the right size.
Next i'm doing the character and I'll post some wires.
For low poly stuff like this, try rendering out at full self illumination. If you're using Max, set self-illumination to 100 on the material panel, and for good measure set your ambient to pure white.

my only beef is the CMB logo is the sharpest thing on the image. Also, the chainsaw doesn't read very well. Believable swamp scene nonetheless. Good stuff.
Thanks for the self illumination tip Slum. I allways thaught no lights in the scene = self illumination.
Now a lazy update.
Low qaulity posing...sorry.
Rendering is my weakest point, along with being lazy...
Today i'll split up some UVMaps and get the textures finshing touches.
An hour or two when I get back home and I'll be finished...God im terrible at super low poly...

Your low poly stuff looks good to me. Nice little scene you have going on their, just dirty/wear & tear up the chainsaw some its too clean and bright. Looks good tho.
Sadly I couldn't finish...
Now its Too late for me to do anymore since the due date was today...
This is the final.
Tommorow ill add finishing touches and show you my favorite character wich is still a w.i.p.
Oh and slingshot, something with the head and the chainsaw happened and the enviroment effects I added won't work,Oh noes...

Im exceptionaly challenged in the rendering and making screenshots department.
Notice how the model and skin is ok but the screenshot ruins it.
Just turn off texture filtering, and kill all the lights. :P

you shade with greys instead of color. gives it a burnt appearance with lots of contrast. and turn off filtering, or whatever it's called in your app.
