hello,

well i have a prob... i try to export a character model (biped with skin rigged and weighted) and a mocap on it. so i had to set "planted keys" for the feet so that they don't "slide" on the ground, it worked out fine, when i exported it everything works well but the feet are sliding on the ground as if i had not set the planted keys...

question is:
- does shockwave support planted keys?
- did anyone else encountered the same prob and has a workaround for that?

it would be very nice if someone could give me a direction or much better a usable solution for this... it would help me very very much in my situation...

thank you.

sorry i forgot i am exporting from 3d studio max 7....

maybe its the exporter not converting the keys?

Isnt there a way to convert everyframe into a key? Could you do that then export if nothing else?

well thats a nice idea... i tryed it out... but the exporter compresses all the anim after the export and it happens to be the same problem as befor! /images/graemlins/frown.gif

So in other words you want the model to move in space? I mean that you keyframe the entire model with keyframes including its root bone and keyframe it for rotation >and< position.

Then delete the planters.

If thats what you did. Trevormedia used to have a good shockwave 3d mailing list that could help. Or maybe cgtalk?

no... not exactly. in the walk an run anim you don't realy see the explained problem... i saw the prob the first time i started to but IDLE anims on the model. so i figured out that i related to the rootbone some how. everything seems to rotate around it, as long as i dont move the root everthing is fine, but if i start to move the root dont matter what keys i've set the legs will start to slide... i looks like a but to me... i have no other clue about that. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

i wrote an cgtalk already but i am reseiving no answer... i will try the mailing list.
thx
