The main body is the fuel tank. 2040 polys, about 6 hours so far. Since I have not hit the cap yet I think I will round out a few sharp edges and maybe detail the cockpit. As well as detail a control system, ailerons, flaps ect. I MIGHT have time for a pilot but that could be pushing it if I want to unwrap & texture everything by the deadline. This racer might not look "cobbled together" because the builder is the rich snob that likes to buy himself a win. Sure it was build in his garage but by a small army of engineers and fabricators. He also added an airport and hanger to his backyard just for the race. Think Howard Hughes before he went completely off the deep end, when you think of my racer.

frikkin awsome!

The propellers are a bit OTT though, they sorta steal the show for all the wrong reasons.

- Scaled back the propellers and engines, they where OTT =)
- Added some engine detail
- Added landing gear and cockpit detail.
- Added Rudder/flaps detail.
- Added "oliver" the pilot. I did a few quick changes to my Capt America (http://www.vigville.com/capt.html) model. Why bother starting from scratch when I can edit what I already have =P If that is agaist the "rules" I will take him out.

6527 polys

Looking good, i dont see anything wrong with using an exsisting model like that, the challenge isnt really about a character its about the plane so as long as thats done from scratch its cool in my book.

A few more hours of work done. Still a fair bit away from finished =(

Oliver is a Texas oil tycoon that changed his name to [b]Oillver when his oil company Oilver Co. Oil, started manking a killing by being the first and only company allowed to drill in Alaska. Since he has oil to burn he is not worried about polution or fule economy. The center fuslauge can hold enough fuel to keep the racer going for 30min at top speed. Part of Oilver's dirty plan is to try and get out front and choke/clog the other racers with his exhaust to slow them down.

I was counting on finishing this off today, but I have to work instead =( So I won't be able to finish the texture in time, these are the latest images I have and are my final submission, no matter how unfinished the texture is =(
