don't know if you are still affiliated with discreet (and i lost my login so i could not answer this thread earlier) but finnaly got around to having a reason to have a good look at the 3dstudio max SDK and it is surprisingly pleasent to work with.

plus i'm now chortelling with mad glee at what i can do in max plugins.
