I know concepts are so last week but I caught this one late. I really like the theme and decided to break-in my new sketchbook. So, first are some sketches:

And then my swatch in progress:

Hopefully, I get time to finish this and then model, but I've been squeezing this in between things I should be doing and so I'm not sure if I'll get time to. C&C welcome...

[edit]I suppose it should be added that I rarely do machinery and this a deptarture from most of my work. It's a bit of challenge for me... mostly in the patience department.

Ahahah, great to see you participating man! Ruby Tuesdays was fun getting to see your project book.

This is looking pretty cool, though I liked the proportions of the original drawing in the top page. Painting is coming along nicely too. Hope to see you finish.

Are you refering the the thickness of the arms compared to the rest or just overall?

No, I was meaning more his head and the set of his proportions. The first seems whimsical in a "top o the morning" cheery way, and the concept comes across a bit thuggish and menacing.

I think it's the rounding of the "teeth" which makes a sort of smile, they slit eye, and the largish comical monacle.

Nice concept. I look forward to seeing it modeled and textured.
