Thats seems overly so. Do telemarketers get 9 year sentences? I think a nice HUGE debt would be better. So he doesn't become a burden on taxpayers.

Hm, well I know what its like to have to abandon a perfectly good email address that all your friends and contacts know because it takes more time and effort to search through the penis enlargement and prescription free drugs offers than it does to actually answer the damn mail..
9 years? bring back burning at the stake! Can't appeal that one..

Hell yeah! Someone needed to made an example of. This debatably harsh sentence is for the common good.

Well, If you think it's an overlay harsh sentence Oxy, it was a little bit more than just spamming. He was 'selling' fraudulent products, and making up to $750,000 a month.

Hmm, did he work for AOL or something? It says he sent stuff via an "AOL server" in that article ... surely AOL would have noticed 10 million emails per day if it was just from a normal account? Did that mean he had access to central AOL mail servers?
I'm glad of this sentence... hope he has to stick out the full 9 years.

heh, from my experience AOL practically condones spamming anyway. How many tonnes of goddamn plastic have those guys put through my letterbox and in my magazines over the years..

Ye, I went to take a piss this one time, and I rasied the toilet cover and this AOL salesman popped his head out and..
eh, flush it.

Anyone here ever try to discontinue AOL service? It's hilariously near impossible to do so. I had to threaten them to get it turned off.

All I have to say is about damn time!!! I get between 2000 to 4000 emails a day on my old account. 99% of it is garbage.
