We are in need of a new texture artist to skin our weapon models for our mod. I will be paying per completed model (payment will be discused between me and the artist interested).

Textures will need to be set up in a HL2 format per this tut: http://battletechmi.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=170

If interested, please contact me at rift555@hotmail.com

Well, when you cant find anyone to volunteer and you are dedicated to see the mod finish, you do what it takes. Since you replied, should I assume you are volunteering?

Two things would maybe make it more likely for me to volunteer:
1. Not using the Half-Life2 engine
2. Not using an unauthorized license (Battletech) which is likely to get you 'foxxed'.

But actually I am busy woking on my own project (sorry no further infos).

We do have permission from Wizkids for the use of Battletech.

And name a better engine to use than HL2

We are no linger looking for a texture artist, thank you.

and DOOM3's high end requirements and tiny map size makes it a very poor game to mod. Thats just me.

The HL2 engine has vastly superior lighting as well. It's simple a more aesthetically pleasing engine. And yes, it's easier to work with.

HL2's lighting is such a bitch. It looks vastly inferior imo, and I've shipped games with both tech.

Halflife2 looked a lot better than Doom3 did, imo. It wasn't super dark, and the characters didn't look like cheap plastic army men. I've done quite a bit of mapping with Source, and it's lighting system is great. I'm not sure why you think it's a 'bitch', PaK.
