The normal map tutorial I have posted on my website http://www.jeffparrott.com/normalmaptut_01.html just got posted on Alias.com in their community section.

It's the middle picture. A bronze membership is needed to view. That's a free account though. And no my name isn't ??ff, but it would be cool if it was.
Very cool. Seems people were always asking after this tutorial - I know I've pointed more than a few people in the direction of your site because of it.
Good stuff, ??ff.
Great, thanks a lot jeffro. Shall be in need of this soon.

Daz, since you work at EA I believe there is a better in house tool for generating these, Maybe ask Cody what he used, I think Mo wrote the tool? Also if anyone is interested I found normal map shaders for Maya software and Mentalray that let you do renders and display the normal maps correctly, I can see if I can dig up the web site if anyone is looking for this.
Oh yeah good call Malcolm. I actually allready had this conversation with Cody and he provided the goods. Of course since then our Xbox2 sku was killed so I never got around to playing with this stuff. Definitely interested in those shaders too yeah thanks.

Here is the link to the maya software render normal map shader, I believe you have to install his toolbox or something http://www.carboneros.com/mel.htm
Here is the link to the mentalray render normal map shader, it is simply a shader network import into your scene and render in Mentalray http://www.headus.com/au/samples/norm-MR/
