Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way (plug-in maybe) to view an image tiled in Photoshop? I'm talking about it just showing the same image end-to-end, to test how well it tiles. What I'm really looking for is some way to have it show them tiled and update all of them as the image changes.

I've been using the offset filter to paint out the seams, but that doesn't help so much with finding those obvious repetitious parts that make the texture look hokey. I've been saving the image and opening it up someplace where it will tile to test it. It's pretty time consuming. It'd be immensely easier to view it tiled directly in Photoshop. So I figured if there's a way to do it, someone here would probably know how. Any help would be appreciated.

the way i checked the tiling is ive made a html file. seted the pic as the background. And viewed it in ie. When you change the file just save it and refresh the browser. I don't know any quicker way.

I use a plugin called half wrap. http://www.btinternet.com/~cateran/simple/ It works like offset but you don't have to put in pixel values, it just does 50% down and 50% right for you. Another great tool someone posted awhile ago is 3T http://3t.lastchancemedia.com/ Yes its another app, but its real easy to just save the texture to 3T's dir and run it.

You could create an action to make the image a pattern, create a new document, and then fill it with the pattern.

Prompt Box: Use [Pattern]
Custom Pattern/Arrow->/Pattern
Select your pattern at towards bottom

Will tile.

Ah... Patterns and actions! Two things I hadn't been using.

Thanks!
