Hey, i've been working on this for a while and i thought i'd post here for some harsh criticism

To promote DarkPlaces I made a video of it running the quake1 content. I wanted to show that Quake1 can be improved with new technology while keeping its basic theme and atmosphere (unlike the shiny plastic type feel of tenebrae).

the video is cool, the engine mods made quake feel a more like a solid world (real time lighting and directional shadows).
Good stuff.

You could have enabled DP's polygonal explosions. The old sprites look baaaad.

wow didnt relize that engine was looking so good. Goods stuff /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I really should redo my models for quake remodeled... that was my very first modeling project and what stole me away from programming. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Since May, the explosion shells have been scrapped in the releases.

(Yes, I keep up with the betas and so does Verm)

Ah. Why?

I can't imagine how crappy Tanx2 would look with sprite explosions...
