Tribes Vengence (III). Why the silence?

Whats the scoop? Is it good/bad? Does it include the mod tools? How is the latency?

i downloaded the demo and installed it and it messed up the directx drivers for my gf4 so i got a new card, but havent had any urge to try it again

Hmm, well I a friend with the FX said he thinks its great (coming from a UT2k4 hardcore perspective). Don't know what to think????

Tribes1 was, and is still, cool, but ooooold.
Tribes2 was cool, but a bug-hell.
Tribes3... Well, tried the MP Beta, and felt it to be too UnTribes-like... o_O

I decided not to get this game after trying the beta and the demo. Way too Unrealish for me (I personally don't like the feel of Unreal).
It felt really disapointing in many ways; only a couple of vehicles, smaller and more restricted maps, a lot of gadgets missing like the targeting laser, cloaking pack, sensors, etc. They really oversimplified the game and it now feels just like any other FPS out there - only with jetpacks.

I played the demo and also decided not ot get the game. I actually did enjoy it somewhat, but with so many other great titles out there this one is not high on my priority list. I never played the first Tribes, but I HATED Tribes 2. I did actually like the somewhat Unreal-ish feel of the Vengeance demo. Just not enough I guess.

Just so you guys know, there was a price drop and you can get the game for $29.99 with free 2nd day air at Sierra's site. You should start seeing it drop in the stores soon too.
