I came on Catacombs with only 3 months till ship, so I was helping with the odds and ends that still needed wrapping up. I had a blast, and I definately know how to paint hair quickly now. 8-)

Here are the role playing hats I made. On the right are the old versions. Keep in mind the poor artist who made those was given only a day to make them all. She is a great artists and I know they would have come out awesome if she had gotten the full amount of time I got to redo them. They are also a few more polys each on most of them. Each is on a 256

These are all the hairs I feel like showing. Each one is on a 256, and is between 300-500 triangles.

Those look great!
The hair is really superb. Hats all look great as well, though I would have expected a little more flare, but your stuck doing replicas as opposed to re-designs.

Cool beans, poop. It's been really neat seeing all these DAoC new/old comparisons.

Perhaps you can do your next tutorial on hair, if you have the time?

I really like these hat textures, the only overlay on either of them was the leather overlay on the antler hat, all the other texture was hand painted, including the pattern for the jester hat fabric. (I made a small black and white image, and made it a pattern, then filled the layer and colorized it.)

Looks good poop. Was it Jane that got hit to do all those hats in one day?

My favorites of the hair is the one in the 3rd column, 3rd row. I used to have my hair like that years ago, and you captured that sorta clumpy soft look to where the 'mushroom' ends and tapers down. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The jester hat also looks nice. Definitly looks like satin, or whatever fabric I'm trying to think of. Even though it is rendered fully lit, it has a sheen to it. Good jorb!

Awesome work! I think the jester hat could have been more saturated maybe, just because usually those hats have pretty brilliant colors.

Besides that.. I love you

Awesome poop, some of your best texture work so far! And thanks for the hair tutorial...great insight on hair breakage too. Wish I'd thought of that instead of trying to make my characters look so goddamn ideal

My favorites are the guy with the spiky 'do and the jester hat. You have a nice overstuffed fabric look going on there.

Nice Hair! I think when i get back i'll make a guy with some long hair. The only thing i didnt liek were the leaves on the Earthy cap, and the removal of little buckel on the wizard hat. But those are just little nit-pics.

So thats what youve been up to Poopster. Me likes man, very nice work.

Only minor crit might be some more colour variation in the hair. i.e a bigger range of colour but also some rogue grey, white hair etc. But I dont know, perhaps these are within a certain age range. But yeah great stuff, and thanks for taking the time with a tut.
