I seem to have run into some sort of bizarre photoshop bug where if I use the multiply layer filter (and only multiply. It doesn't happen with any of the others), the layer goes into vertical stripes a bit like interlacing or something. Why does this happen. This is the second time I've run into the problem and I'm not the only one here to have found it.

It seems that it only happen occasionally when I make a new layer. Its not that big a problme, but it just means I have to remake the layer and redo whatever I might have painted on it which can be annoying.

Are your graphics card drivers updated?

Yep. Given that it doesn't happen all the time I'm guessing its got something to do with the way I'm working. I forgot to mention, it only happens when I drop the opacity below 85%. Above that it looks fine.

I havn't had this problem, but check you're desktop color depth. It might be at 16-bit? Or it might just be your video card?

I don't thihk its the colour depth seeing it doesn't hapen all the time and everything else looks ok. I suppose it could be corrupt or the like drivers though again, you would think that'd cause the problem to happen all the time. And not just on multiply...
