so... I got Halo 2 today...

Had Halo 2 fall into my lap today. Played through the first load and about half of the second one.

I must say, I'm impressed.

It didn't start off all that great, kind dull, then it really kicks in. The in-game cinematics are awesome! Voice acting is top notch. Though, we played it on 2 different xboxes, and on one of them, the cinemats did some seriously bad popping of sets. The camera would change angle, and POP! everything would just pop in. Though, on the second xbox we used, (newer one), it didn't have that problem at all. Hope that's not the case with any of ya'lls xboxes.

Anywho, going to spend all Sunday playing co-op.

Keep you guys informed, maybe get some webcam pics of the screen.

So, I guess that's a good lesson to learn.

FYI- Make sure your xbox is upgraded to the most recent version. Otherwise expect issues with outdated console.

How does one go about upgrading an XBox? Isn't part of the appeal of consoles that you don't need to worry about such things?

you dont need to, but you can to play imports etc.

Some DVD movies have been known to update the desk top of the Xbox if you attempt to play them. This can screw up any “mods” that you have made to it.

i was noticing it pretty bad tonight on my friend's xbox.

we played coop for a while, i may need to give the game a dedicated shot before making any calls on it, but so far im "meh."

I got a chance to play it saturday for about 14 hours, ugh, long stretch, fun as hell though, the copy we had had the cinematics compressed so the quality wasn't that great, i'm hoping that's what made the textures pop, who know's. got my original copy waitin for me at Fossil when I get to work. maybe i'll see some of you on xbox live this evening....
