Hey Guys/Gals – a quick one here. When I dl music from supposed free sites can I just burn the mp’s over to a cd? I have a new workstation pc with a burner. I am mainly just
going for old school classic tyep rock, (r stones, hendrix, led zepp., kinks, yard birds, beatles, eagles, america, cars, pink f., police, foghat, british rock, sounding bands) but I am a total noob on dl music over the web.
Anything I should be on guard for or away of before the FBI comes flashing badges?
And of course any bands you suggest for my tastes?

I think fair use allows for burning the stuff to a CD.
If you mean from an illegal source, just make sure you don't upload much and the RIAA won't go for you.

It really depends on the licence those "free" music is under. On www.opsound.org (http://www.opsound.org) for example they even have some 'true' free music, that allows you to sell it if you like (but don't get too excited, because at least 70% of the music on that site is 'not so good').
