The diffuse and spec color are the default values. Shouldnt it be rendered exactly like the texture? Also the mean is not low, so I dont understand why its so dark in CE.

I played with the settings and found that increasing the glow amount gives a desirable effect, but Im not satisfied. I dont want to use the glow amount when there shouldnt be any.

Here it is in maya with the exact same materials, no tweaks, same diffuse and spec values (186,186,186).

Any ideas.

Derp, feeling like a noob. I forgot about the time of day settings (still new to this).

No worries dude, I've recently gone back to scene after nearly giving up with materials and realising the mistakes I made. I would highly recommend the Eat3D DVDs on Materials in CryENGINE.

I personally think that those DVD's offer good ideas, but really only the first DVD, yet along first few lessons are really worth watching. That's my take on it.

Ill take a look at them. I purchased a dvd by Mike Povlovich from eat3d a while back actually, and it was rather good. Its too bad there aren't as many free tutorials/guides as udk.

Anyways I went ahead and created a vizarea around my scene, added some lights and its all looking good now.
