  • News Elder Scrolls Online Cinematic

January 22, 2013 by Mark Dygert

And the cinematics just keep dropping today this time from Bethesda Softworks and ZeniMax

“The Elder Scrolls Online brings the award-winning Elder Scrolls experience online for the first time. Using ZeniMax Online’s Megaserver technology, players will join one connected world with a built in social network that lets them stay up-to-date with everything their friends are doing. Megaserver technology avoids the hassle of shard selection and makes The Elder Scrolls Online one of the most socially enabled games ever created. Whether playing alone, or with hundreds of friends, players can develop their own style of play as they embark upon an epic quest across Tamriel.”

    We’re talking about it HERE

hmmm i must admit the graphics are really lacking and the combat really looks stiff…. ever since Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, i've come to admit this to most games; the combat is lacking and stiff…

      i really hope they'll fix that….

      Beautiful! Moar!

Why do they feel the need to make an online game? It will probably fail because of all the other ones out there already. I really doubt the name, The Elder Scrolls, can save it.

Uncanny Valley says "Hi." Very nice trailer. Boy, today's just a good helping of nice cinematic trailers.

Since Morrowind Elder scroll games always had the motive of an online game: their weak-point was that the story they built was grandiose but had absolutely no consequence for the player : you could become the head of the mage guild, the champion of the land, the most notorious thief but such position and achievement never unlocked anything significant which left the player with the lost feeling of "ok so what do I do now?"

As an online game if they play their cards right there would be intelligent player to fill that void and continue the illusion of a living world.

The game aside for now, please tell me that some of those shots were live action footage… because they looked live action… hope to see a behind the scene of this…

Just FYI, this was made by Blur, not Bethesda.
