  • News Lead Designer Leaving Naughty Dog to Teach at USC

April 30, 2012 by Mark Dygert

Richard Lemarchand is leaving Naughty Dog to teach at the University of Southern California

It isn’t all that surprising if you’ve followed Richard, he has done a lot of work with USC in the past.

Still it might seem like quite shock to Naughty Dog that a lead designer is leaving. But, something tells me Richard helped establish the right culture and helped put enough like minded people in the right positions that they will be able to carry on without him. So instead of viewing this as a loss for Naughty Dog its a huge gain for USC, students everywhere and the industry as a whole. The world eagerly awaits the giant neutron bombs of knowledge you will be laying on us over the years to come, thank you for giving us so much enjoyment and for helping to inspire and shape the next generation of game designers.

      *Naughty

Doesn't sound like a loss for anyone, really. Only a gain.

This is good news, we need more industry veterans teaching in universities.
