Autodesk has released the trials for their 2012 crop of products; ie Max and Maya are the ones you probably care about most.
They offer the free 30 day trails as you may or may not have seen before. Basic tutorials as well as all the various new features and bug fixes are listed at their respective spots below:
Maya 2012 – Info
Maya 2012 – Trial
3D Studio Max 2012 – Info
3D Studio Max 2012 – Trial
There are also offering zero percent financing for those of you that actually purchase the software.
You might notice 3D Studio Max Design listed there too. This isn’t really useful for our needs. It’s basically Max with a bunch of architectural plugins. They used to call it 3D Studio Viz.

I Jizz in my pants :O
Cheers mates DLing
YES! wheres the student versions!
YESSSSS
zero percent financing is really cool….much easier than shelling out a gillion bucks at once.
I would download it, but I can't be asked to fill out a form that long. You got to be kidding me… I just want to try their software, not sign up for a sales job. We'll be getting it at work next week anyway. I think I'll just enjoy my weekend, lol.
Awesome. I've downloaded it and I've been playing with it for a few minutes, but I can't seem to be able to get the Direct X shaders to show up.
I'm always working on the 2010 version of 3DSMax and there the Xoliul shader works. Do you guys know how to set it up here or if it's possible to get some sort of real-time shader without using Direct X? (seeing how 2012 has this new 'awesome' viewport..).
Finally, a max worth getting.
Holy shit yes!
Finally a pimped viewport for Maya 2012.
I hear a voice calling me… "shaaaader auuuthooorrriiiing…".
I want this. Badly.
Wonder if they'll add the 2012 version for the student program.. Anyone knows?
I'm with Disting, waiting for the student version.
Mudbox 2012 is also out in trial version, dont know why you wouldnt include that in the news? Unless everyone are using Zbrush :/
Please add the mudbox too we are a few who enjoy that compared to other sculpting programs
