That’s right! We’re kicking the doors open on the massive Polycount update with a brand new contest with none-other than Valve Software.
Oh did that get your attention? Then maybe you should read on!

We are extremely happy to announce to you that our very first contest for the new website is going to be a contest with videogame industry behemoth, Valve Software. If the first community update for TF2 was any indication (more than half of the content was produced by members of Polycount), we know you guys are no strangers to Team-Fortress 2. What better to launch with then a contest where you could potentially see an entire set of your artwork make it in to Team Fortress 2 ‘Polycount Pack’.
Let that sink in for a second.
When your blood starts to circulate properly again you should probably click here and, as the Engineer would say, G’IT GOIN’!

NICE, I gotta get working on some weapons.
Holy
Shit.
So, what about items that don't replace existing ones but have new features? Are those out of bounds?
You'd be hard pressed, I think, to see them make it in as that makes Valve work more
I guess, but what if it's super awesome?
I was thinking of cloak replacements, but yeah if Valve doesn't like the ideas I might as well not make them. I'd email them and ask but they can't tell me because that would ruin the competition.
Oh and another question. If I am talking this over with a bunch of mates, and one of them who doesn't model suggests something, and I take the idea and run with it (with his approval of course), is it possible that we both get credited?
Thanks!
Just put in the notes 'original idea by X' and let Valve figure it out.
Adam, is it possible to make two entries? I'm thinking of possibly doing one for the Demoman and one for the Engineer (A 3 tiered building) but I'm not sure if that's allowed.
Thanks!
Totally! Just submit twice
I have another question. How many winners will there be? Will there be one for each class?
There'll be as many winners as there is stellar entries
I guess one of my secret projects I was doing Im going to have to post online now :p
Valve+Polycount. The all interwebz will collapse of too much epicness D:
This is awesome! I'll try and find time to work on this!
Hey adam, do the items have to have custom animations or is Valve willing to do that for me if it gets chosen?
Nvm checked the contest thread….stupid me.
